Small tables have many uses. It can function as simply a coffee table for drinks and such, or it can also function as a table for decors like lamps, little figurines, some picture frames, vases, and so on. It adds a more personal touch to your living or sitting room. If your sofas are situated at a certain corner of the room, coffee tables are also great in filling up that small space between your sofa and that wall. Basically, small coffee tables can really make the look of your room. There are many styles out there, from plain, traditional ones to contemporary ones, and even really cool ones. Normally they go as sets with the large tables, or they can be single units that you can complement with your other furniture. And the best thing is that these tables can be used as the main coffee style table for small spaces too.
One of the best things I like to do is sit around the coffee table and talk for hours at length. There is nothing better than sipping a cup of tea or coffee accompanied with some snacks to roll out a perfect evening in the company of a long lost friend. A coffee table signifies long chats with friends and family accompanied with peels of laughter and roaring fun. A coffee table is also called a cocktail table which is a long and low table, typically kept in front of a sofa set, to enable small talk. Sometimes I like to sit all by myself reading a book and enjoying the quiet morning with a hot cup of coffee. On some days when I am lucky I can smell a fresh baked loaf of bread enveloping the surroundings like the fog takes over the sea on a cold night. On hot summer days, sipping cold coffee or ice tea is one of my favourite things to do, and I find myself propelled toward that table which is heaven for me. Rainy days have a different memory for me. I enjoy fresh fried french fries or onion rings dipped in a tangy sauce with these scrumptious and delicious treats.
To help you decide, you must first consider the existing furniture and the general theme of your house. Your table shouldn’t clash with the existing otherwise you end up making something you’re not going to use. When thought out carefully, this type of table becomes the focal point of your living room especially if the table is made of the right materials. Therefore the next thing to consider is whether you’re going to use hardwood or softwood. The general rule is if the table will be used quite a lot such as when you entertain guests constantly, you live with kids, or you plan a wood base under a stone table top, you have pets, or plan to pass the table to future generations; you must avail of hardwood such as oak, maple and cherry. But if the table will be used as accent or decorative pieces then softwood such as pine will do.
